WASHINGTON, D.C. Speaking at a news conference here today, U.S. Attorney General Abigail Crock denounced the wide spread civil unrest which has begun in several major U.S. cities. Ms. Crock openly advocated the use of Federal troops to restore calm, while also saying that neither she nor the Haskill administration had any desire to limit the lawful expression of religious freedom.

Ms. Crock went on to say that there would be no repetition of the widespread rioting which marked the discovery of the Tomb of Christ and its subsequent destruction almost thirty years ago. According to Ms. Crock it is the administration's hope that all involved will find peaceful means to accommodate differences in their religious views. The Attorney General was careful not to associate the Haskill administration with one side or the other of the conflict.

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. Christians for Christ spokeswoman, Ruth Yemmer, called for calm in the growing conflict between sides of the 'Christ Question.' "Why are they already attacking us? Why are they already so violent? We have only known this joyous news for a week. No one is this country has heard so much as one word from the mouth of Jesus, yet the same Fundamentalists who went crazy after the tomb discovery are already in the streets with guns. The membership of Christians for Christ wants to hear the message of the Savior. We are not an army of street fighters and we don't want to become one. We do insist on our legal right to assemble and prepare ourselves spiritually for the Second Coming of our Lord!"

During a question and answer session after the press conference, Ms. Yemmer did affirm rumors that the Christians for Christ regional center in Colorado Springs was being fortified, primarily against car bombs and other terrorist threats.

WASHINGTON, D.C. Secretary of State Fentner today confirmed that high level inquiries had been made to the Brazilian Government concerning plans for Jesus Robeles, the Brazilian Jesus. Fentner denied that the Haskill administration had any plans to bring Robeles to this country. "As far as we know, Jesus Robeles is well cared for and happy in the hospitality of the Brazilian Government. The United States considers this to be an internal matter of Brazil, historically a strong ally and close friend of the United States."

"The world has known of the existence of Jesus Robeles for less than a week. Already the United States is facing violent confrontations between His followers and His nay sayers. Why would he want to leave the relative peace and quiet of Brazil to come here?"
